Jessica Gutknecht

JESSICA is the co-owner and CFO of Continental Sausage, Inc., manufacturer of premium, small-batch charcuterie products sold under the CharcūtNuvo™ brand name. She oversees all financial and administrative human resources activities for the company.

In addition to operating as CFO, Jessica is the key driver of the company’s very distinct and award-winning workplace culture and its reputation for excellence in customer care. She is exceptionally proud that the company’s employee turnover rate is well below the industry average and that its customers and retailers (both new and long-term) are some of the most loyal in the marketplace.

Jessica holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas in Austin. She began her career as an in-house accountant with MESBIC Ventures Holding Company in Dallas, then became a budget analyst for a Denver-based firm before making the shift to her current role as CFO at
Continental Sausage, Inc.

When Jessica and her husband, Eric bought the family’s Denver-based manufacturing and retail business from Eric’s parents in 2003, she immediately took a very active role in learning the business from the ground-up, running the office at the factory and on weekends, working behind the counter at the company’s much-beloved neighborhood deli in Cherry Creek (sold in 2015). In so doing, she built very close ties to both workplace and retail customers and staff. Concurrently, she maintained a close eye on establishing rigorous financial systems and HR policies and
practices to support the manufacturing side of the company’s rapid and steady growth.

On a parallel path with her company responsibilities, Jessica keeps active with various community-based leadership roles. She is a Founding Board Member with New Legacy Charter School, an Aurora, Colorado-based organization that works with pregnant and parenting teens and has an innovative early learning center which serves that unique population. She is constantly looking at finding new and meaningful ways in which she and the company can make a significant impact on the lives of underprivileged children. Much like her husband, Eric, Jessica takes a very active role in their childrens’ academic and extra-curricular activities.

Through her day-to- day actions and overall demeanor, Jessica reminds her team at Continental, her colleagues at the various charitable organizations she works with, and her family that she is steadfastly passionate about listening and serving the needs of others.
